Bonjour mes amis! So good to see you! As usual, this week has been rather busy with my day-job, teaching, computing, and various other tasks. How is the weather where you are? Here, the leaves are beginning to change color and the air is getting cooler and cooler. Fall is my favorite season ... I experience an emotional uplift, a surge in desire to be productive, and more physical energy (I am probably the most sedentary person you know ... not good). I love to take an evening ramble around 8 p.m. I love that delicious fall smell of chimney smoke and burning leaves (you know the one). After an evening walk, I adore a steaming cup of tea (English Breakfast or rose are my favorites), or better yet, a hot cup of tonic.
My sister found the recipe for tonic sometime last year when she was researching health tips online. She found a recipe for a miracle beverage made of water, lemon juice, and honey. Those who drink this delicious tonic regularly report clearer skin, improved digestion, decrease in abdominal pain, increased sense of calm, relief from cold/sinus symptoms, and more. Personally, I find that tonic helps my stomach, and even better, helps me to feel less anxious!
Bring water (amount up to you) to a near-boil and pour into cup
Add juice of at least 1/2 lemon
Stir in 2-3 tbsp of honey
Enjoy!
